Abstract:
We have taught the Renzulli Key Features Model of evaluation to about 40 teams of nurses involved in a collaborative regional project and have found it to be a most effective tool. It is relatively simple to learn and execute, yet comprehensive. It encourages the evaluator to gather a broad range of data from a variety of groups, thus providing meaningful data for decision making. Within our project it has been used to assess the need for new programs, to determine whether programs should be continued, to plan revisions in existing programs, and to evaluate both the process and the outcomes of planned change. We have found it useful in all these areas and recommend it to other nurses who wish to conduct program evaluation.
