    Summary

    A cat developed osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in its eye socket after prior injury and vision loss. This case is the first documented instance of this aggressive tumor linked to phthisis bulbi.

    Background:

    • A feline patient presented with a firm intraorbital and periorbital mass.
    • The mass developed eight years after initial ocular trauma leading to phthisis bulbi.

    • Histologic examination of the enucleated globe confirmed osteogenic sarcoma.
    • This represents the first documented case of osteosarcoma associated with phthisis bulbi.
