[Ipsi- and contralateral ascending cochlear pathways. The II-III interval of the early auditory evoked potential]

Abstract:
Waves II to V of the early acoustic evoked potential present significant differences in ipsi- and contralateral derivations. The difference is more distinct for the IIN-III interval during which an ipsi-/contralateral phase-lag is apparent. Assuming, along with most authors, that the II-III interval represents mainly the cochlear nucleus--trapezoid body--superior olivary nucleus path, the ipsi-contra asymmetry suggests either morphological and/or functional asymmetry of the paths corresponding to the interval. It seemed to us to be a criterion of normal retro-cochlear.
