    Summary

    Contralateral supraomohyoid neck dissection offers minimal benefit for clinically negative necks in oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx cancers. The procedure yielded few positive nodes and did not consistently prevent future metastases.

    Background:

    • Clinically negative neck status is common in oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx cancers.
    • The role of prophylactic contralateral neck dissection remains debated in these cases.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the therapeutic value of contralateral supraomohyoid neck dissection in patients with clinically negative necks.
    • To assess the yield of pathologically positive nodes and the effectiveness in preventing future metastases.
