[Development of a neonatal intensive care unit in a small Pediatric Department]

This is a short report on the development of a newborn intensive care unit in the periphery of a big town. The survival rate of the newborns under respiratory support is now around 80 per cent. This outstanding achievement is the result of great efforts in newborn intensive care.
