    Background:

    • Muscular Tension Dysphonia (MTD) is characterized by excessive laryngeal and neck muscle tension.
    • Clinical signs include palpable muscle tightness, laryngeal elevation, posterior glottic gap, and mucosal changes like vocal nodules.
    • The exact biomechanical effects of these muscle tensions on glottic configuration are not fully understood.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the biomechanical effects of specific laryngeal muscle tension on glottic morphology.
    • To reproduce and analyze the glottic features observed in patients with MTD using a cadaver model.

    Main Methods:

    • Six human cadaver larynges were utilized for anatomical dissection.
    • Posterior, lateral, and interarytenoid muscles were dissected and subjected to tension simulating phonatory effort.
    • Glottic changes were visually assessed and recorded via videotape for comparison with clinical findings.
