[Ureteral lithiasis: excision by ureteroscopy]
Abstract:
The authors report the first 6 cases in the world of removal of ureteric stones under visual control with the aid of a rigid ureteroscope . In 5 of the 6 cases, the authors were able to extract the stone endoscopically. The only failure was a case in which the stone was too large for the Dormia basket. The only source of difficulty was passing the ureteric meatus. A very small meatotomy may be required. Only the future will tell whether this results in reflux.
