Fatty replacement of muscles adjacent to spinal osteoid osteoma

A case of lumbar osteoid osteoma is presented in which computed tomography (CT) demonstrated ipsilateral fatty replacement of the psoas and paraspinal muscles. This association has not been documented on CT previously. The fatty replacement of muscle may be related to atrophy.
