Abstract:
Although the diminishing number of hypertensive emergencies is gratifying, it is nevertheless unfortunate that a significant proportion of hypertensive patients of all ages still are not receiving effective long-term treatment. Hypertensive emergencies continue to threaten many patients. Early recognition and aggressive management provide the best means to reduce morbidity and mortality in many hypertensive emergencies.
