[Practical results of echocardiographic diagnosis of left ventricle function]
Abstract:
M-mode-echocardiography enables the analysis of left ventricular wall motion abnormalities along the m-mode beam. Fractional shortening is proved to be a reliable parameter in evaluation of regional left ventricular function assessed by m-mode-echo. Two cross-sectional-echocardiographical short-axis-views and one long-axis-view are representative for the analysis of the left ventricle. 2-D-echocardiography enables localization and quantification of left ventricular wall motion abnormalities. The sensitivity of both methods can be increased by stress tests.
