Atrial septal motion in obligatory right to left shunt

An adult patient with a hypoplastic right heart with intact ventricular septum, pulmonary atresia, secundum ASD and a PDA was studied by 2-D echocardiography. A striking flap valve motion of the primum portion of the interatrial septum was observed. This is perhaps the first report of its kind in an adult.
