Abstract:
In the second volume of his History of the Peloponnese War, Thukydides described the course and the clinical picture of the so-called Attican Pest. It is demonstrated, by an analysis of the text of chapter 51, that Thukydides had recognized the difference between resistance and acquired specific immunity.
