Biological interactions of ultrasound

Findings of several of the more important investigations into the biologic interactions of ultrasound are presented, as well as relevant physical and biophysical considerations. Although a number of effects have been observed in response to various magnitudes of ultrasound exposure under various experimental conditions, evidence accumulated at this time seems to suggest no apparent hazard, genetic or somatic, to the patient properly exposed during diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
