Effective treatment of urinary tract infections

In prescribing any particular antimicrobial agent for the treatment of urinary tract infection decisions have to be made on the choice of drug, on the basis of bacteriological findings, the dosage and the duration of administration. These problems are reviewed below in conjunction with the criteria of successful therapy.
