[Physico-chemical properties of trophoblast-specific beta 1-globulin]
It has been found that the trophoblast-specific beta 1-globulin [TSG) contains one site of binding to Con A and phytohemagglutinin. The interaction with phytohemagglutinin should be taken into consideration, when studying the immunosuppressive activity of the protein. Additional fractions of the protein with fast anodic electrophoretic mobility and lower molecular weights have been detected after treatment of the trophoblast-specific beta 1-globulin with diethylene triaminopentaacetate. This is indicative of a subunit structure of the glycoprotein molecules.
