[Thyroid and calcitropic hormone secretion disorders in thyroid cancer]
Abstract:
Strong positive correlation was found between the level of thyrotropin and calcitonin. In papillary cancer this correlation is strong, in poorly differentiated it decreases, and in follicular cancer it disappears. The ratio of total thyroxine to thyrotropin which is of the least value in papillary cancer, is considerably reduced. The balance of calcitropic hormones is also disturbed at the expense of enhanced calcitonin production. The changes progress in the direction: papillary-follicular-poorly differentiated cancer.
