    Summary

    Idiopathic carpotarsal osteolysis is a rare condition. Early radiological signs, including bone flattening and minimal osteoporosis, were identified before extensive bone loss in three patients.

    Background:

    • Idiopathic carpotarsal osteolysis (ICO) is a rare condition characterized by progressive bone resorption in the wrists and ankles.

    • This report details three cases of idiopathic carpotarsal osteolysis.
    • One patient exhibited early radiological signs not previously described: flattening, loss of harmonious curvature, and minimal osteoporosis of carpal and tarsal bones.
