Quality assessment as a form of continuing dental education: changing dentist clinical performance

Individualized clinical assessment of 105 volunteer dentists in Washington State was an experiment in continuing dental education. The two-year study evaluated the effect of counseling on the improvement of individual dentist performance as it affected the proportion of serviceable restorations. The results showed a significant difference.
