Attitudes and beliefs concerning life and death of elderly persons

Interviews with one hundred elderly people at Selwyn Village in Auckland showed that 98 did not fear death although 42 feared how they might die. Two-thirds expressed a belief in life after death, although details of this finding varied considerably. The pre-death period was investigated and it was concluded that the concept of categorising elderly people in a pre-death period is not of scientific value.
