Alcoholism and mortality in Otago

A series of 1574 coroner's necropsies in Otago have been reviewed from the point of view of alcohol involvement. Alcohol was found to be a significant factor in 12.2 percent of the total and 32.1 percent of the unnatural deaths over the age of 15.
