Alcoholic liver disease in black men with G6PD deficiency
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, common in Afro-Americans, was studied in alcoholic liver disease. Contrary to expectations for viral hepatitis, G6PD deficiency showed no association with increased alcoholic liver disease severity.
