    Background:

    • The immune system's response to mitogens is crucial for understanding immune function.
    • Bovine aorta contains various bioactive molecules that may influence immune responses.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the immunomodulatory effects of a low molecular weight (MW) fraction from bovine aorta on lymphocyte proliferation.
    • To determine if this fraction exhibits immunosuppressive properties in vivo.

    • Extraction of a low MW fraction (3500-10,000 daltons) from bovine aorta.
    • Assessing the effect of the fraction on human and murine lymphocyte responses to Concanavalin A (Con A) in vitro.

    • This fraction warrants further investigation for its potential therapeutic applications in immune modulation.
