    Background:

    • Fibronectin (FN) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and tissue organization.
    • The precise localization and role of FN within the complex glomerular structure are not fully elucidated.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine the specific localization of fibronectin within the rat glomerulus.
    • To investigate the potential role of fibronectin in glomerular cell-matrix interactions.

    Main Methods:

    • Indirect immunolabeling techniques were employed on rat kidney sections.
    • Immunofluorescence, peroxidase-labeled antibodies, and ferritin-labeled antibodies were used for detection.
    • Isolated glomerular basement membranes (GBM) were also analyzed using ferritin-labeled antibodies.
