[Treatment of the injured spleen (author's transl)]
Abstract:
Secure hemostasis in the spleen can be achieved by infrared contact coagulation, a simple, cheap and reliable method. The need for technical splenectomy during abdominal operations can be reduced to one fifth, in blunt abdominal trauma a substantial number of spleens can be saved.
