[Double malformations of the upper urinary tract: complications in adults (author's transl)]

Forty-five adult patients underwent surgical treatment for complications of double malformations of the upper urinary tract. Compared with children, the percentage of incomplete duplications rose from 3--43%, and nephrectomy was necessary in 25% instead of 0 to 8%. The possible effect of the yo-yo phenomenon is discussed. Early surgical intervention might improve the possibilities of saving the organ.
