[Elasticity of the craniospinal system in patients with severe forms of stroke]
Abstract:
The elasticity of the craniospinal system was examined in 26 patients with grave forms of cerebral stroke. A certain role of the relationships between the intracranial pressure and contents in the stroke pathogenesis is demonstrated. The initial and "optimal" CSF pressure, the elasticity gradient, and the index of the craniospinal system reserve utilization were found to be the most informative indications of the elastic properties of the craniospinal system. Criteria for individual evaluation of the degree of the intracranial hypertension compensation are determined. A possibility of compensating the intracranial volume increase by a diminution of the cerebral blood flow volume is demonstrated.
