    Ethanol administration exacerbated acute inflammation in rats but did not significantly affect subacute or chronic inflammatory models. This suggests amino acid pools may influence acute inflammatory responses.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effect of ethanol on acute, subacute, and chronic inflammatory models in rats.
    • To determine if ethanol influences carrageenan-induced edema, formaldehyde-induced arthritis, and cotton pellet granuloma formation.

    • Rats were administered ethanol (2 g/kg i.p.) daily for varying durations.
    • Acute inflammation was induced using carrageenan.
