[Liver adenoma, causing fatal abdominal hemorrhage, after prolonged administration of oral contraceptives]

One case of hepatic adenoma is reported. The tumour occurred after seven years of uninterrupted use of anticonceptive pills and caused fatal abdominal haemorrhage. The adenoma had a connective tissue capsule and regular lobular structure in which at some area peliosis could be observed. In the liver, in several area focal deposites of PAS-positive material occurred.
