    Background:

    • Understanding electrolyte shifts during exercise is vital for sports performance and health.
    • Previous studies have not fully accounted for plasma volume and water changes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the impact of varying exercise intensities on plasma electrolyte concentrations and content.
    • To determine the role of plasma volume and water changes in these electrolyte alterations.

    Main Methods:

    • Five healthy males performed 20-minute treadmill exercise at 30-90% VO2 max.
    • Peripheral venous blood samples were analyzed for hemoglobin, protein, hematocrit, and key electrolytes (Na+, K+, Ca2+, Cl-, Pi).
    • Plasma volume and water concentrations were calculated to determine electrolyte content and concentration per liter of water.
