[Positive effect of a reduced venous return on the circulation in myocardial infarct]

It was established in acute experiments on 26 dogs that ligation of the anterior interventricular coronary artery at a high level is attended by dysfunction between the ventricles, with hypofunction of the left and normofunction of the right ventricles. The dysfunction leads to an increase in the filling of the lungs with blood. Restricted venous return to the heart improves the values of hemodynamics, increases contractility, and reduces the manifestations of the phase syndrome of left-ventricular myocardium hypodynamics and reduces at the same time right-ventricular contractility.
