[Ultrasonography in seromucotympanon (author's transl)]
Abstract:
A new ultrasonographic method for the diagnosis of fluid-filled middle ears is presented. In this method the ultrasonic "beam" is lead through a fluid-filled needle, the top of which can be put towards the tympanic membrane under visual control. Thus misleading echoes from cerumen or the walls of the external ear canal can be avoided. The clinical use is described.
