Although fairly uncommon, the maternal complications after caesarean section must not be disregarded, as they may lead to sequelae. The complications occurred more frequently in acute than in elective c.s. Two patients developed fistulae secondarily. There were no deaths. Half the patients, who later conceived, had repeat c.s. A case history of vesico-vaginal fistula is reported.
