[Neuropsychology of frontobasal and frontoconvex brain lesions]
Abstract:
Returning to our initial hypothesis, i.e. whether it is possible to define differences of personality changes between frontobasal and frontoconvex brain lesions which can be interpreted by neuropsychological test methods, we can draw the following conclusions: It was possible to show significant differences between the two groups on all four levels and with all four test methods. Depending on the exact localisation of the lesions the "frontal syndrome" could in many cases be defined as a basal or a convex syndrome on the basis of the accompanying mental changes. We think that our findings justify further neuropsychological studies on the clinical and psychopathological characteristics of these groups of lesions.
