Presumed ocular tuberculosis

Tuberculosis, once thought to be the most common cause of uveitis, is now thought to be a relatively rare cause of ocular disease. This is because of a decreased incidence of tuberculosis as well as a lessened emphasis on its diagnosis. The majority of cases of posterior uveitis and retinitis today are toxoplasmosis, histoplasmosis and other viral causes along with undetermined etiology. Following is a case report of a retinitis and periphlebitis of presumed tuberculous etiology because of the systemic involvement of the patient.
