    Patients with pustular bacterid showed impaired polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) function, specifically reduced killing of Candida albicans. This suggests a serum-dependent disorder impacting cellular immunity and a higher prevalence of HLA-B14.

    Background:

    • The significant association with HLA-B14 may indicate a genetic predisposition to pustular bacterid.
