    Summary

    Disseminated cutaneous lupus erythematosus is a newly identified lupus variant. This condition presents with migratory erythema, differing from discoid lupus erythematosus by its lack of scarring and atrophy.

    Background:

    • Disseminated cutaneous lupus erythematosus (DCLE) is a recently defined variant of lupus erythematosus.
    • It presents clinically between classic discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus.
    • DCLE is characterized by migratory annular erythema, distinguishing it from discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) which features atrophy, scarring, and follicular plugging.
