    Background:

    • Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder primarily affecting exocrine glands.
    • Pulmonary involvement is a recognized but not fully characterized complication of Sjögren's syndrome.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the frequency and type of pulmonary involvement in patients with Sjögren's syndrome using pulmonary function tests.

    Main Methods:

    • Pulmonary function studies were conducted on a cohort of 20 patients diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome or sicca complex.
    • Patients were categorized into limited variant (sicca complex) and complete syndrome groups.

    Main Results:

    • Pulmonary functional abnormalities were detected in 12 out of 20 patients (60%).
    • The most frequent abnormality observed was airway obstruction.
    • Abnormalities were more prevalent in the limited variant (9/13 patients) compared to the complete syndrome (3/7 patients).
