Arterio-portal fistula diagnosed by computerized tomography (CT)

Abstract:
A case of arterio-portal fistula diagnosed by computed tomography is presented. CT scans of the liver showed a greatly distended portal vein and normal sized hepatic veins. The diagnosis was verified by hepatic arteriography and surgery. Arterio-portal fistulae have not previously been diagnosed by CT. The following case is our fist instance of such a diagnosis.
