[The endothelial cells in acute keratoconus (author's transl)]

In the light of electron microscopic examinations the author emphasizes the role of the endothelial cells in the development of acute keratoconus. The increased activity of the endothelial cells results in disintegration of Descemet's membrane and in the formation of "Descemet ruptures".
