    Summary

    This study compared Goldmann applanation tonometry and Langham pneumatonometry for measuring intraocular pressure. Pneumatonometry readings were higher, but conversion factors were developed for predicting Goldmann values, aiding diagnosis with corneal disease.

    Background:

    • Intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is crucial for diagnosing and managing glaucoma.
    • Goldmann applanation tonometry is the gold standard, but can be affected by corneal properties.
    • Pneumatonometry offers an alternative IOP measurement method.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare Goldmann applanation tonometry with Langham pneumatonometry in normal and glaucomatous eyes.
    • To develop conversion values for correlating pneumatonometry and applanation tonometry measurements.
    • To assess the potential of pneumatonometry for IOP determination in the presence of corneal disease.
