    Background:

    • Platelet aggregation plays a crucial role in hemostasis and thrombosis.
    • Diabetes mellitus is associated with an increased risk of thrombotic events.
    • Previous studies have indicated platelet abnormalities in diabetic patients.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate in vitro platelet aggregation in diabetic patients with retinopathy.
    • To evaluate platelet shape change as an early indicator of platelet activation.
    • To explore potential metabolic mechanisms underlying platelet dysfunction in diabetes.

    • Conventional platelet aggregation assays using ADP, collagen, and ristocetin.
