[25-Hydroxycholecalciferol and UV therapy of psoriasis]

In the group of Psoriasis-patients which we examined, the plasma 25-hydroxycholecalciferol concentration was decreased. After an UVA/UVB radiation the increase was highly significant (p less than 0.0001). This observation together with further reported results (phosphorus, calcium) in the serum and in the urine let us suggest a connection between the Psoriasis disease, the Vitamin D metabolism, and the calcium and phosphate metabolism in the human organism.
