Abstract:
A forty year old man with delayed pressure urticaria is presented herein. Serum from this patient was analyzed for quantitative complement components in order to more fully evaluate possible immunologic mechanisms, in this syndrome. There was no consumption of complement components nor any change in the total hemolytic complement level, even during an active phase of whealing. The data provide little support of a possible immunologic reaction in this syndrome.
