[Pigment dispersion and pseudoexfoliation. Conclusions from biomicroscopic findings]

Deposition syndromes--pigmentary dispersion and pseudoexfoliation--are common but are usually overlooked or only recognized when glaucoma develops, althought the most important biomicroscopical and histological symtoms have been known for decades and early diagnosis is possible. Deposition syndromes--pigmentary dispersion and pseudoexfoliation--favor glaucoma manifestation in cases disposed to primary open-angle glaucoma. Also, in the presence of pseudoexfoliation, pigment dispersion seems to be the eliciting factor. The frequency of glaucoma in deposition syndromes has been overestimated.
