[The application of modern pharmacology to medical practice]

The medical doctor is increasingly concerned with new and potent drugs. To judge their therapeutic value he should be aware of results of research in pharmacology, toxicology, clinical pharmacology, drug kinetics and drug metabolism. Some basic terms of pharmacological research are briefly outlined and general problems of simple blood kinetics of antibiotics and diuretics are discussed.
