Abstract:
In lung cancers of various histological structure, it is possible to encounter endocrine tumor cells which contain neurosecretory granules in the cytoplasm. Their presence in lung tumors may explain the cause of hormonal activity of some neoplasms of this organ, which is evidently not related to the concept of the so-called ectopic production of hormones by tumor cells. It is reasonable to believe that endocrinous and epithelial cells of the lung tissue have a common source of their development.
