[Method and utilization of the calibrated and differentiated carotid artery sphygmography]
Abstract:
A description is given of a specially developed pulse tracer based on the differential induction principle which enables calibrated carotid sphygmography. Using a differentiator, the speed of the pressure rise of the central pulse curve can be gained, constituting an essential criterion for describing heart contraction. Compared to intra-aortal pressure gauging via left cardiac catheter there is a highly significant correlation to the meter readings of calibrated carotid sphygmography. It is equally possible to verify the effects exerted by negative-inotropic or positive-inotropic pharmaceuticals. Reproducibility of the method is good. Hence it appears suited for course checks.
