[Angio-immunoblastic lymphadenopathy (author's transl)]
Abstract:
Report on clinical, paraclinical, and histologic findings in angio-immunoblastic lymphadenopathy. The latter are demonstrated in lymph nodes as well as in autopsy material of other organs. Discussion of the differential diagnosis against postvaccinial and viral lymphadenitis, drug-induced lymphadenopathy, Lennert's lymphoma and T-zone lymphoma. A disturbance of the immunologic balance seems to be an important principle in pathogenesis of the angio-immunoblastic lymphadenopathy. Similarities to the graft-versus-host-reaction are a clue for the understanding of the occasional transformation into a malignant lymphoma. The course and prognosis of the angio-immunoblastic lymphadenopathy differ largely. Therefore patients with a long-lasting and benign course need also a permanent control.
