Abstract:
The level of competency in the diagnosis and treatment of common and emergency disorders needed by nonophthalmologists is assessed and then translated into explicit objectives that specify the levels of mastery to be learned. Effective and efficient methods and materials to achieve those objectives are developed; these, together with more efficient and effective use of instructors, have now been utilized in many different schools and curricular structures, with strong student acceptance.
