Summary

Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) is present in cholinergic sympathetic neurons in cats, co-localizing with neurotransmitters like vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). This suggests NOS acts as a co-transmitter in sudomotor and vasodilator functions.
